Hi! I’m Gerald P. Delos Santos, a 19-year-old BSIT student from the Philippines. I enjoy learning about technology, gaining new skills, and staying calm while handling school life.
This blog, “Ctrl + Me,” is my small online space where I talk about student life, mental health, personal growth, and the things that help me stay strong like music, dancing, gaming, and thinking about life.
If you're an IT student, feeling stressed, or just looking for simple and honest talks about staying balanced and motivated. I hope you find something here that makes you feel better and less alone.
Being a college student in IT is not easy. There are so many things to do like assignments, online classes, and projects. Sometimes it feels like too much. That’s why I try my best to take care of my mental health. Here’s how I stay balanced even with a lot going on.
I Dance and Listen to Music
Music helps me feel better. When I’m tired or stressed, I listen to songs or dance a little. It helps me feel more relaxed and gives me energy to keep going.
Playing games like Mobile Legends and online chess helps me relax. I enjoy it, but I also make sure I don’t play too long, so it doesn’t get in the way of my schoolwork.
I Reflect and Write
Sometimes I write down my thoughts or how my day went. It doesn’t have to be good writing. I just want to let it out. Writing helps me understand how I feel and clears my mind.
I Move Around and Eat Healthier
Even just walking or stretching helps me focus. I try to drink water, eat better snacks, and not sit too long. It really makes a difference in how I feel.
I Talk to Others
I talk to my friends or family when I feel down. Even just sharing a joke or a meme helps me feel better. It reminds me that I’m not alone.
Taking care of your mind doesn’t mean you have to be perfect. Small things can help in big ways. If you’re reading this, remember: It’s okay to rest, and you’re not the only one going through hard times.
